At the fourth edition of the ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Awards 2024, held from 7th to 9th October 2024 at the University of Tartu, the central theme was innovation and creativity in higher education. In this context, the interdisciplinary course ‘Adapting to Climate Change: Ecosystem Services of Urban Green Zones 2024’, organised by the University of Uppsala, received a nomination.

In this course, held from 13th to 31st May 2024, Urtza Uriarte Otazua, member of the CAVIAR UPV/EHU research group, has explored together with students and faculty from six ENLIGHT European Universities the ecosystem services provided by urban green zones. The course combined theory and practice of the CBE approach, which helped investigate the crucial role of these green spaces for human well-being and their contribution to climate change mitigation.

If you are concerned about climate change and want to collaborate to improve human well-being, register for the next edition of the course, which will take place from 12th to 30th May 2025. More information here
