Within the framework of the CI+IRU Project, promoted by the Directorate of Territorial Planning and Urban Agenda of the Department of Housing and Urban Agenda of the Basque Government, one of the first initiatives launched was the establishment of an international research network in Urban Regeneration.
For this purpose, since 2021, an annual International Seminar has been held as a meeting point for leading stakeholders in the field of Urban Regeneration.
The international research network currently comprises more than 30 interregional, national, and European stakeholders, including entities from the academia, public administration, and the private sector.
The seminar serves as a key and enlightening activity to consolidate the collaborative research network for Urban Regeneration projects through the work and shared experience of the stakeholders involved.
In 2024, the 4th International Seminar CI+IRU 2024 was held on 23–24 October at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Donostia-San Sebastián.
