PROJECT
LoTu_Cotidianeidad local y turismo. Method for evaluating correlations between spatial characteristics and urban dynamics.
This project is financed by the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council through the 2023 call of the Support Program for the Gipuzkoan Network of Science, Technology and Innovation. The project proposes developing a method that interrelates the physical parameters of the city with georeferenced Big Data of a social nature. In this way, it will be possible to visualize and analyze local and tourist dynamics separately.
As in previous projects, the method will be designed for conducting municipal-scale analysis. It will be replicable in other contexts. In this case, the case study will be Donostia-San Sebastián.
Date: September 2023 – October 2024
OBJECTIVE
The main objective of this proposal is to understand the relationship between the urban dynamics of people and the physical and functional characteristics of the city, with a focus on the existing conflict between the use of space in the daily life of local residents and the presence and activities of tourists.
