In this second edition in Vienna, ADINBERRI, the leader of this European project, emphasised during the event the importance and impact of the initiatives that are part of the HARIAK strategy. Among the most relevant projects from Gipuzkoa presented, KALELAGUN, stood out, an initiative developed in collaboration with CAVIAR UPV/EHU.

KALELAGUN: innovative project to combat undesired loneliness

The project takes an architectural, urban, and interdisciplinary approach, focused on designing high-quality outdoor meeting spaces (squares, streets, parks, etc.) that encourage active enjoyment of the surrounding environment. KALELAGUN aims to enhance social relationships, promote physical activity, and integrate digital technologies to improve interaction in urban spaces. Additionally, it proposes a detailed study of the social, architectural, and urban aspects of meeting spaces in the Gipuzkoa region, with the aim of creating a replicable model that contributes to reducing undesired loneliness.

KORALE project

KORALE is an initiative that forms part of the European programme Interreg Europe, funded by the European Union. The project aims to enhance knowledge to prevent and address undesired loneliness through public policies. It is an innovative initiative that connects Gipuzkoa with the regions of Austria, Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, and Denmark, and seeks, through international collaboration and scientific evidence, to promote social cohesion and reduce undesired loneliness.
