The Artajona Food Forest is part of the European FOOD FOREST project, an initiative focused on the creation of sustainable agroforestry systems that combine food production, ecological restoration, and biodiversity enhancement. In this context, bird monitoring provides valuable information about the health of the ecosystem. The following species were recorded visually and/or by sound in the study area, reflecting the diversity of habitats present: open areas, hedgerows, scrubland, crops, and regenerating zones.
As an identification tool, Merlin Bird ID was used, and as a source of information on species distribution, ecology, and conservation status, SEO/BirdLife was consulted, which is also the source of the images used.
