Academic background

Architect by the Technical School of Architecture of Donostia-San Sebastian of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) (2012); Master Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Architectural Heritage by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2013); beneficent of the Predoctoral Training Programme for Non-Doctor Research Personnel of the Department of Education of the Basque Government (2014-2017); PhD Architect in the Doctoral Programme in Restoration of Historical Constructions, Urban Evolution and Refurbishment de la UPV/EHU (2020) with Cum Laude mention to the Thesis Patrimonio arquitectónico industrial en el eje del río Oria (Gipuzkoa): valoración, protección y conservación, which was co-directed by Javier García-Gutiérrez Mosteiro (Professor of UPM) and Santiago Sánchez Beitia (Professor of UPV/EHU).

Teaching experience

She began her teaching career during her pre-doctoral training period in the Department of Architecture of the UPV/EHU during the 2014/2015 and 2015-2016 academic years and she has been lecturer at the UPV/EHU since 2019/2020. Initially, he taught on the Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and the Degree in Mechanical Engineering, within the Department of Graphic Expression and Engineering Projects. She is currently Associate Lecturer in the Department of Architecture, in the area of Urban Planning, and teaches the following courses of the degree in fundamentals of architecture: “Urbanismo II: el hecho urbano”, “Urbanismo III: legislación urbanística” y “Ordenación de espacios libres y equipamientos urbanos” en el grado en Fundamentos de la Arquitectura.

Research experience

She is currently member of CAVIAR (Quality of Life in Architecture) Research Group (UPV/EHU) and PhD researcher under the project Plan de actuación para dinamizar e implementación del PCTI Euskadi 2020-2030 en el ámbito de ciudades sostenibles.

As a previous researcher, she has participated, also as coordinator, in the project Puesta en valor y activación del proceso de reutilización de un conjunto monumental industrial: la Nueva Cerámica de Orio which was directed by Ana Azpiri Albistegui and financed by the Department of Culture and Language Policy of the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. During her predoctoral training, she also collaborated in the project Estudio previo para la elaboración del Plan de Acción a largo plazo en el parque de edificios de Euskadi, which was developed for the Head Office of Territorial Planning, Urban Planning and Urban Regeneration of the Basque Government.

Regarding scientific dissemination, she has participated in various international conferences and she has published scientific articles.

Professional experience

As a freelance professional, she has worked in various areas in the field of architecture, carrying out refurbishments, drafting technical reports and carrying out archival work. In the field of urban planning and landscape, she has participated in the drafting of the Zestoa Landscape Action Plan, as well as she has worked as a facilitator in participatory processes of consultation with the population and urban interventions. She has worked in the field of architectural heritage, collaborating occasionally in the drafting of technical reports and has participated in the project “KOMOMO: Cómo gestionar el patrimonio arquitectónico moderno de forma colectiva” which was directed by RB3 Innovación Urbana Integrada S.L. and ordered by COAVN Gipuzkoa and the do.co,mo.mo Ibérico Foundation. Finally, she has contributed to the dissemination on the field by writing articles and giving lectures.
