Architect specialising in building construction, University of the Basque Country (EHU, 1997). Advanced Studies Diploma in History and Architectural Composition (2009). PhD with a doctoral thesis entitled “Evaluation of the Passivhaus Construction Standard and Its Application in the Climatic Field of the Basque Autonomous Community and the Navarre Foral Community” (2015). Diplôme de la Langue Française (B2), Alliance Française, 05/30/1987.

Associate Professor in Graphic Expression (2002–2005) and Associate Professor in Architectural Projects (2005–2008), both at the Higher Technical School of Architecture (EHU).

Since 2009, he has been a Interim Labor Professor in the Department of Architectural Constructions at the Higher School of Architecture at EHU, teaching subjects related to Sustainability, Environmental Conditioning, Construction, and others. He also teaches in the Master’s Programmes in Architecture, in Research on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Industry, Transport, Building and Urban Planning, and in Gastronomic Spaces, all at the University of Basque Country (EHU).

Researcher within the CAVIAR research group (“Quality of Life in Architecture”), participating in numerous competitive and directly funded projects in the fields of building energy refurbishment, energy efficiency, urban sustainability, and residential comfort. Notable projects include the evaluation of local refurbishment strategies from a life-cycle perspective, comfort analysis in collective NZEB dwellings built to the Passivhaus standard, development of innovative methodologies for energy refurbishment, as well as studies on indoor air quality and sustainable energy solutions for roofs and urban environments.

He has participated in regional, national, and international projects, as well as in European conferences on energy efficiency and sustainability in architecture and urban planning.

Registered Architect No. 311,685 with Official College of Basque-Navarrese Architects (1997–Present).

Practising independently, developing projects in both new construction and refurbishment for public and private sectors. In 2007, in collaboration with the Official College of Basque-Navarrese Architects, he prepared the exhibition “Provocación-Constructiva / Probokazio Konstruktiboa” and the associated lecture series on contemporary architecture in Vorarlberg, Austria.
