Academic background

Architect from the Public University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (2002). PhD in Architecture from the ETSA of Donostia-San Sebastián (UPV/EHU).

Teaching experience

Associate Professor of architectural projects in the Department of Architecture of the UPV/EHU, from 2004 to the present.

Research experience

The main objective of his research is to bet on an architecture that makes it easier for people to enjoy a good life. He has coordinated research projects on spaces adapted for the elderly and also shared community spaces.

In 2014 he presented his doctoral thesis “The Human Essence of the House” at the Department of Architecture of the UPV/EHU. This thesis is published by the Editorial Service of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). In 2007 she presented the thesis “The kitchen as a paradigm of evolution in housing typology models” at the Department of Architecture of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU). That same year she obtained the title of University Specialist in Sustainable Construction at the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU).

In 2014, the Zuhaizpe housing expansion project in Donostia – San Sebastián was completed. This work was published in number 12 of the Arquitectura y Madera magazine edited by Publiditec. In 2019 he was part of the guided tours of Basque wooden architecture benchmarks within the framework of the second edition of Mugak, the Basque International Architecture Biennial organized by Basquegur together with the COAVN and the BEC.

Professional experience

Since 2002 he has his own architecture studio: AM Arkitektura.
